Focus view
Focus presents open work due today or overdue as one flat, note-centered daily list.
Why it matters
Section titled “Why it matters”Open keeps the full planning horizon visible, but daily execution needs a smaller surface. Focus combines Open’s Overdue and Today content and presents it as one flat list without bucket headers or day dividers.
The rows are deliberately the same rows used by Open. Completing, rescheduling, filtering, opening a note, and reading validation feedback should not change meaning when moving between the two views.
Priority and the single anchor
Section titled “Priority and the single anchor”Focus is priority-sorted, so the top row is already the most urgent, earliest item — the one thing to do next. Focus leans into that: the first row stays at full strength while every row below it is dimmed, so the eye rests on a single target without losing the rest of the day as optional context.
Priority also shows on the rows themselves. Every row carries a left accent bar whose color ramps from urgent warm hues (🔺/⏫/🔼) through a neutral grey for normal priority to progressively fainter greys for 🔽/⏬, so a lower-priority bar never out-shouts a higher one. Below-normal rows are additionally de-emphasized. The bar pairs with the priority signifier already in the task text, so priority is never conveyed by color alone. Below the first row the bar dims with the rest of the row, keeping the anchor the only sharp element.
What to expect
Section titled “What to expect”- Focus is the first navigation tab and the default for fresh or invalid settings.
- Open notes whose earliest unchecked dated task is due today or overdue appear in Focus.
- Undated, future, closed, and unsupported-status notes do not appear in Focus.
- Focus uses the same note-first rows, actions, context filtering, availability markers, and validation messages as Open.
- Focus has no due-date bucket headers or day dividers.
- Rows show task priority: every row carries a left accent bar that ramps from urgent warm hues through neutral to faint greys, and below-normal rows are also de-emphasized.
- Focus keeps the first row sharp and dims every row below it so the eye rests on the single next action.
- An empty Focus view celebrates that
